Feliz Navidad!
We hope all of you have a wonderful Christmas with your families. May
God Bless you greatly for the blessing your prayers and gifts have been to
many people hearing about Jesus—the reason for Christmas.
Matamoros Men's Project
In the last week in October, Cesar helped with a project that had 100 men
from Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. They worked with a
colonia called Libertad. While there, the men constructed 8 small
(14’x10’) homes for 8 precious families. They also spent time with the
community playing soccer with the children, hosting a feeding program
which fed over 150 people, staffing a free medical clinic, and visiting
men in the nearby prison. On the last night there, they hosted a Festival
for the community. 480 meals were served as the men entertained with
music, games, face painting, balloon sculptures, hand stamps,
caricatures, and evangelism bracelets. It was a lot of fun.
One precious moment came as two little girls came up to me (Jennifer)
at the medical clinic and asked for bracelets with colored beads.
The beads symbolized the story of salvation. After hearing the gospel
message, each girl accepted Jesus! It doesn’t get better than that!
Well, maybe it does: 26 other people received Jesus during the
project. It was a great week!
Mexico City Update
My trip to Mexico City trip was a great success. As you may know from
Jennifer’s e-mail, I went there to look into the possibility of having
AIM projects in Mexico City next year.
Your prayers made a huge impact as I was able to meet 10 pastors. Some
were from the Salvation Army, and others were from various churches in a
colonia called Chimalhuacan. One pastor/missionary that I met was Walter,
a GBC missionary from Argentina. I was also able to visit with Bess and
Brenda, two missionary friends Jennifer and I have known for many years.
It was so good to see them.
During my time there I was able to see the facilities the Salvation Army
has. They can house over 50 people, including bathrooms, kitchen
facilities, a dinning room, a chapel, meeting rooms and a church
building that holds 600 people. This is where the youth will stay on
short-term projects to Mexico City.
What is the next step for Mexico City? Well, I am glad you asked.
Now we will post the information and pictures on our AIM web site.
As youth groups show interest in coming to Mexico City and as they
sign up, we will set up their projects accordingly. Please pray that
God would work in the hearts of the participants He wants to use to bring
Mexico City to Him.
