May 2006 Newsletter
Over View
A lot has happened since our last newsletter in January. In February Cesar set up mission projects for three churches: Our Saviour Church
from Rockford, Illinois, Faith Lutheran Church from Janesville, Wisconsin, and Martha and Mary Lutheran Church from Mount Prospect, Illinois.
He also set up the largest trip that AIM does in Mexico for a church called Johnson Ferry Baptist Church from Marietta, Georgia. Here are some
of the details:
Reynosa Missions Project
Our Savior Church from Rockford, Illinois has been coming down to Mexico with AIM for a number of years. They came to do ministry in the city of
Reynosa and worked with Pastor Mario and Pastor Asael. On this mission project, they brought two medical doctors, several nurses, a pharmacist,
a dentist, and a dental assistant. They worked during their time in Reynosa in a clinic started by Pastor Mario who is also an anesthesiologist.
They also build two small houses, one for a family and the other for the mission that would be used as a Sunday School room.

Matamoros Missions Project
In February Cesar set up a trip for Lutheran Church of Martha and Mary from Mount Prospect, Illinois. This church worked in Matamoros with Pastora
Juanita Perales. She started a small church in front of her house by simply meeting the needs of the poor people with food, clothing and
prayer. The church from Illinois came to make the roof a little bigger so they could fit more people inside it. They brought doctor Tom Reesse
and had a medical clinic. During this time many people were helped including a woman who was dramatically healed from a leg wound. This
group also taught the children and did door-to-door evangelism. Another special thing they did was visit some of the Mexicans that they
had met in years past. (Some of the Americans have been coming with AIM for seven years.) They laughed and cried as they told stories
of finding and loving on friends they had met. It was a great project.

Georgia Youth Group Goes To Matamoros
From January until April, Cesar was planning for AIM's biggest project in Mexico. Every Spring Break the youth from Johnson Ferry Baptist
Church in Georgia come to Matamoros, Mexico to serve and to share the gospel. Each year they bring more people. This year they brought 259
students and staff. Cesar's job was to get everything ready for them before they arrived. This included what they would do, where they would
do ministry, etc. In getting ready for this mission project He worked with two pastors, Pastor Ivan and Pastor Gaby. Each of these pastors
helped choose 9 families that would each receive a small house. He also interviewed many of these 18 families and gathered pictures of them to
post on the internet. JFBC brought two doctors and two nurses that worked in the Medical clinic. They did Vacation Bible school, visited a youth
detention center, visited a rehabilitation center, did two feeding ministries, they shared the gospel inside a private school and also played
soccer, volleyball and basketball with the students of this school. By the end of the week 289 people had made a decision to follow Jesus.
This is an amazing number! Praise God!

Cesar's Kidney Stone
Have you ever had a stone in one of your kidneys? Have you ever had a stone try to leave a kidney? It is not a pleasant experience.
Some have said that it is worse than having a baby. Starting last Thursday, April 27, I began having the very painful experience of trying
to move a stone out of my body. It took 6 days for it to leave, but I am glad to report it is over! Unfortunately,
it has also left a big hole in the checkbook. The trip to the doctors office, the trip to the hospital and tests are probably going to be more
than our health insurance deductible ($2500). If any of you can help out with this by praying or donating, we would really appreciate it.
Jennifer
In January, Katie and I started the homeschooling experience. We honestly have had a great time. She has been very conscientious and I haven't
lost my mind yet. Did you know that you can study Spanish and Math at Target? Okay, try reading all the bilingual signs. It's quite educational.
Seriously, she's almost finished with all of her books and it's only the beginning of May. I've also been busy with Hannah. Cesar and I
are coaching her volleyball team. It's been a great opportunity to reach out to our community here and love on these kids. It's so much
fun to watch kids play sports.
Katie
Katie is becoming quite the pre-teen. She turns 13 in July and already looks the part. She is already 5ft 4 ½ inches and has just grown up so
much lately. Homeschooling has been a great way to spend more time together and teach her life lessons. She still loves reading books,
(we get 10 books from the library each week) and is very much into hanging out with her best friend, Lori. Somehow they manage to see each
other almost every day. Katie is also very much into Instant Messaging with her friends.
Hannah
Hannah just got back from a trip to San Antonio. She went on a school fieldtrip to visit the Alamo. I (Jennifer) went with her. It was fun.
We went on huge Greyhound buses with about 150 other fourth graders. She has also enjoyed being on the volleyball team as well as taking great
care of our baby kittens. Frequent trips to visit a friend's horse that is boarded nearby are also high priority. Horses are currently her big love.
Thank You for All Your Prayers and Support!!!
